Hello fellow parents and welcome to theCoderSchool Montclair! We are Jonathan and Nicole and we are thrilled to make theCoderSchool part of this wonderful community. We are strong believers that coding is emerging as a staple skill for the next generation. Our son, Aiden, has been a student of theCoderSchool for the past year and it has quickly become our favorite after school activity. Through coding Aiden has been able to explore his creativity through storytelling, and has created games that he is proud to show off. Equally important to us, he is developing a logical thought process and is actively improving his structural thinking and problem-solving skills. So as the old adage goes, we are not just the owners but also a client!
A little background on us: Nicole spent eight years working as a marketing professional for tech companies and financial firms such as Lenovo, AllianceBerstein and Deloitte. An entrepreneur at heart with a passion for music, she decided to start her own business in 2011 by opening a piano distributor and music academy. Over the past decade New Jersey Piano City has grown to be one of the premier music schools with many students going from having no music experience to winning top awards at state and national competitions. Nicole graduated from Rutgers University with a bachelor’s degree in economics and minored in East Asian Studies.
Jonathan was born and raised in New York City. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Psychology with minors in Business Administration and Sociology. He has 15 years of experience in database management, project management and team building, and currently works as a Data Team Leader at Haver Analytics in charge of Asian markets. He is a huge fan of anything technology and loves tinkering with every gadget under the sun. He has been coding since he was 16 years old.
We reside in Essex Fells, New Jersey and have a son, Aiden, who is a second grader at Montclair Kimberley Academy.
